Each afternoon we will connect with several local plants, exploring different approaches to deepening our appreciation and relationships with them.
We will always begin with coming into presence with ourselves: through body and breath and re-awakening our senses. With the support of Rose tea, we will connect to each other, creating our circle for the afternoon. Ready to listen to and share from our hearts,
You will be invited to forget what you think you know of a plant, to be led by your experience in that moment. I will be your guide - inviting you into movement to come back to your body and bring awareness to your breath; leading you into experiencing plants and teas using all of your senses, and offering opportunities for simple creativity and sharing.
As we share our perceptions and experiences we create a fuller picture of the qualities of a plant, alongside you having your own sense of how that plant could companion you in life.
There will be new discoveries, simple nourishment and experiences joy and wonder in life.

Would you like to take a deep breath? .... and another one;
and perhaps let yourself sigh loudly on the next out breath .... and again ....
give your eyes and your self time to really drink in this picture of a Rose...
what qualities do you see in this Rose? ...... what do they mean to you? ....
what could you learn from being with the feel and the scent of the petals?

What is insight herbalism?
Plant medicine for the heart and soul
It is as if each plant invites us on a journey, every one into a different kind of landscape which will touch each of us in unique ways. Like any journey into the unknown, we can learn something about ourselves and, and see the world anew. As herbalist, I am your guide into this terrain of the plant, offering invitations to support you to deepen your relationship with the plant, and so with yourself.

The plants can reveal habitual ways of thinking and doing we did not know we had; we can receive a glimpse of a new possibility for ourselves; we can become aware of what we truly long for and the obstacles inside us; we can be invited into a new way of being.

In group settings we create a fuller picture of the plant as share our intuitive perspectives on their qualities and what they offer for our times. Each person develops their relationship to the plant, in their perceptions, responses and insight received.
It is possible to go deeper, to heal old, or new, emotional wounds, to receive support, to embody the insight, to explore more what that might mean to you and how you can translate it into your everyday life. This can also be the focus of one to one sessions.

Sessions will often begin with ways to consciously slow down, to return to the body through breath, through movement so we have more awareness and sensitivity to our sensations and responses.

We will often begin with a Rose tea meditation, which is simply taking time to use all of our senses as we come into connection with the tea - the scent, the feel of the liquid, how both move.

Then if another plant is to be invited in, we have woken up our senses and connected with our hearts so that we are more open to receiving the plant. This can be a part of the living breathing plant, through tea; the presence explored and expressed through words, sounds, creativity, movement and touch. All the way, the exploration is supported and guided by me.

"The sessions so far have felt like a really precious relationship building with myself, my heart and Rose. I feel really grateful and like a lot is unfolding in subtle ways - almost beneath the surface as a result of times in your lovely cabin"

"Wormwood is a powerhouse of a herb, a no nonsense, stand up and be counted in your face kind of herb.

They offer subterranean holding, underground, under water, perfectly held in the right density.
Wormwood challenges us to full presence and embodiment. They support me to hold fear, they make way for anger, they offer a forceful invitation to see and let go of all that is no longer needed. "
